Shinjuku Hotel

The Shinjuku Hotel was a group project, in which we were to design a five star luxury hotel and spa. The hotel posed us with design challenges and opportunities. Our biggest design obstacles where the hotel location and shape. Shinjuku is located in Tokyo, Japan and it was our job to familiarize ourselves with Japanese culture and design esthetic. I saw this as an exciting opportunity and a reason I love design, to have the ability to even in theory learn travel and learn about another countries culture and allow them to influence your designs. Shinjuku's circular shape posed our group with an unique challenge, not only to design around the shape but to fully embrace it.
